Teacher Evaluation

A robust system of teacher evaluation (a combination of the Danielson and Marshall models) aligned with research based effective practices, exist for teachers at Delano Public Schools. Qualitative measures of teacher effectiveness, observational data, and measures of student achievement are all considered in the teacher evaluation process. Delano Public Schools is a Q-Comp district. As such every teacher is also an observer of other teachers throughout the course of the school year. Tenured teachers are formally evaluated by Site Administration every three years with mini-observations performed during the off years. Non-tenured staff are evaluated annually with several mini-observations and at least one formal observation.
