A robust Principal evaluation system based on the leadership competency model is in place at Delano Public Schools. This model is aligned with research based effective practices. Each building Principal meets three times annually with the Superintendent monitoring progress and utilizing the continuous improvement ideals. In turn, each building Principal meets three times annually with their subordinate Administrative staff during the evaluation process. Qualitative measures of teacher and principal effectiveness, observational data, and measures of student achievement are all considered in the teacher and principal evaluation processes.
