Living, every people want to reach their targets. In order to achieve the target must be well planning in life, also concentrating in doing.
Planning help we remind of what have to be done and what have not done yet. Even a housekeeper requires making a plan in cooking, for example, she has to make a list of raw materials so that she does not forget before going to buy them, which occurred frequently in a daily life. Same as cooking, life has to be planned before learners start doing something. For a person who still does not know, it is better to start with listing something they like or want rather than living without aim.
Life plan
Life plan is something we wish or want to occur in our future. Doing this, we have to plan and aim the direction of our lives so that we can reach the target with happiness and satisfaction.
There are many aspects of life planning, for example, life plan of career, life plan of family, etc, each person and family has their life plans which are different from the others according to which aspect of life plan that they give importance on.
Life plan of developing career ; It is important to consider improvable potential, skill, and talent ,also to consider of what the community needs by managing learners’ knowledge and seeking for the new one.
Life plan of household ; Morality in life should be considered, as well as self-immunity. Moreover, using the incomes-expenses memo for analyzing the unnecessary expenses in order to reduce them and increase the incomes is also important. After this, there should be an assessment of the success. The life plans of household are, for example,
1) Making a household account : make a plan in payments, for instance, spend three parts and save one so that learners can use their money more orderly, stop doing all vices, study so that they can see through the consumerism, and plan of the household’s payments.
2) Reducing household expenses : for example, cultivating home-grown vegetables, making an organic fertilizer for using instead of a chemical one, producing household’s equipments.
3) Increasing household incomes : product processing , doing integrated farming , cultivating herbs , etc , or start making the household plan by
1. Manage a household’s data.
2. Search for learners’ potentials, working skills, funds, and work conditions.
3. Search for household’s problems.
4. Specify a household’s aim so that they can be free from poverty.
5. Plan for solving household’s problems.
6. List the action according to the plan.
7. List the assessment
Case Study: Surachai Morakotvichitrakarn, Sufficient Agriculture of Bann Phaphai.
A farmer Surachai Morakotvichitrakarn’s house according to Sufficiency Economy is located in Bann Phaphai, Mae-Pong district, Amphoe Doi Saket, Chiang Mai province. Surachai has told that his life would never be like today unless he is very loyal to His Majesty the King. He started from nothing : selling clothes in 1997, facing the economy crisis and owing an eight-hundred-thousand dept, he want to attempt suicide. His mother, however, reminded him of facing trouble, and he began consciously going to Huay Sai Royal Development Study Center with a loyal heart to His Majesty the King. At this place, he truly learnt and understood the meaning of Sufficiency Economy.
He and his family started with feeding animals, for example fish, chicken, cow, and frog, according to their skills . They, then, cultivated home-grown vegetables, build a mushroom house and these became a joint plantation which was completed in managing systematically and efficiently.
Few years passed, Surachai has become a specialist in what he has done : making muck and organic fertilizers, pig farming in holes, feeding chicken, cow, fish, frog, producing natural gas from using animals’ dung, using plants’ waste in feeding animals.
“His Majesty the King has taught Thai people for more than 20 years of binding nature itself, but Thais do not consider and analyze, also do not try to do, instead,we used money impetuously. These can be solved by using principle of 5 Rs – combine(ruam palung), collaborate(ruam kid), collaborate(ruam thum), conclude the lesson together(ruam kun saroop bot rean), and co-accept the results(ruam kun rup phol) ,also by always understanding learners themselves first. Having low incomes, learners should list the household account, remove unnecessary things from life, think carefully, be hardworking, be self-aware, do not be materialism, and importantly, do not challenge themselves with the richer, they must decide which aim suits them best and it all depends on their own.
At this moment, Surachai is still on his way of doing as his life plan told so that he could be released of his obligation – borrowing 2 million baht in buying lands behind his house for using as production site- within 5 years.
He wants to prove that the poor who wants to fight with understanding his potential well can live honorably and sufficiently.
