FACS teacher and Chef , Ms. Long has lived across the U.S. and has traveled extensively across the globe which ignited her passion for the Culinary Arts . She is a seasoned culinary professional with over 10 years of experience ranging from fine dining to comfort food. Her professional culinary career started at the Four Seasons and quickly progressed as she gained vast experience working in a fast paced fine dining restaurant. With her experience from the Four Seasons she took on a number of new challenges in diverse kitchens in well known restaurants.
After years of honing her craft, she decided to give back to the community by working as the Executive Chef and Head Instructor for a non profit organization. Chef joined the teaching staff at Deer Park High School in 2022 and has expanded the Culinary Arts program at both Deer Park High School and Robert Frost.
At the core of Chef Long's culinary philosophy is making fresh local ingredients shine through her dishes. Working with local food purveyors and community groups is a top priority. Ms. Long aims to share her experiences with her students through great food, her passion for learning, teaching and having fun.
