The general instructional purpose of this trip is to expose students to the culture and history of Toronto and Niagara Falls. This part of Canada is rich with history, architecture, natural beauty, different languages, food, and music. This trip gives students the opportunity to travel to another country and go to a part of that country that speaks another language. Music students will also have performance opportunities.
We will know a more accurate price estimate later this spring, but the ballpark price is around $1,550 per person with quad occupancy. This is based on about 76 students/adults participating. The price will go down if more students participate, but will go up slightly if less people travel. The cost of the trip for students includes: FIVE nights of hotel accommodations, all transportation, tickets, admission fees, nighttime hotel security, and, generally, two meals a day. Out-of-pocket, students are responsible for just one meal a day and meals while we are traveling to-and-from. Travel insurance (“cancel for any reason”) is strongly encouraged and is available at an additional cost.
This trip price amount will change due to changes in the itinerary and number of participants. Fundraising opportunities will be made available to all participants. Between DEAR Funds and the Music Boosters, there is financial help for music students who are unable to pay for the full cost of the trip. There are also multiple fundraising opportunities throughout the year for students and families to take advantage of. We are looking into other avenues for additional scholarship opportunities.

We will be asking parents about being chaperones in the fall. The cost of the trip is the same for chaperones (except they will be in double rooms at the hotel). We are planning to take 10-15 adult chaperones, depending on the quantity of students traveling (goal is to have about one chaperone for every eight students).
