2025 Dates: December 15-21
Deerfield Toronto Trip and Music Students have a great fundraising opportunity by working the booths for the Fantasy In Lights at Olin Park in Madison during the week of December 15-21.
Each night we will need to fill workers for two booths. These people just hand out candycanes and brochures as people exit the park. We have divided the hours in to two shifts for each booth. Each shift filled will earn ~$35.00 per booth. Credit is given for each booth filled, not how many people are in each booth (if there are 2 people working in a booth, they will split the $35 per shift). Adults who work will have their credit applied towards their student.
We are looking for volunteers to work both (2) booths the week starting Monday, December 15 and ending Sunday, December 21. Hours are daily from 4:15-10:00 pm - shifts are from 4:15-7:15 and 7:00-10:00. You are welcome to take one shift - or spend the entire evening and work both!
*There are two booths to be filled each shift. Families do NOT have to take both booths.
*We need at least ONE "ADULT" (meaning someone 16+) in each booth. It is more "fun" with a partner, but it is not required if the person is at least 16.
*Each booth shift has two slots IF you are going to have two people in that booth. Both slots do NOT need to be filled if you will only have one person in that booth (but that one person needs to be at least 16 years old or older!).
*You CAN work back-to-back shifts - if you would like to spend the whole evening at Olin Park, sign up for both the 4:15 and 7:00 shifts! :-)
There are propane heaters in the booths but you still want to dress warm. You job will be to greet every car as they exit Olin Park, offer a candy cane (or dog treat), and assist them in dropping off donations in a contact free box. You will not have to handle any money.
**MAKE SURE TO READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS** You are responsible for following these guidelines while working your shift.
Please note construction – not sure how much back up we will cause.
SECOND SHIFT – PLEASE PLAN LOTS OF EXTRA TIME TO GET IN AND CALL YOUR GROUP LEADER IF STUCK IN TRAFFIC TO LET THEM KNOW.
FIRST SHIFT CAN NOT LEAVE UNTIL SECOND SHIFT ARRIVES.
If the city informs us of any night closures at East Lakeside Street we will post to FACEBOOK. Last update from the city said there are only 3 nights anticipated but no dates yet.
The show WILL remain open every single evening – the intersection at East Olin Ave. will always be open.
