This morning we took a gallery walk through the classroom and examined students' writing. But first we brainstormed ideas about what makes a piece of writing "good". We then discussed the differences between editing and revising. After that, we walked around and read some of our classmates' writing. With each piece of writing, the students had to write down one thing the writer is doing well and one thing they can work on. This allows the student to hopefully go back into their own writing and make edits and revisions. The students LOVED critiquing each other's work and they are looking forward to doing it again tomorrow. Writing process at work!
