School Counseling

At Dedham Middle School, we have three full-time school counselors. Counselors cycle through the middle school with their grades, so each student will have the same counselor for their three years at DMS.

We're here for you!

We encourage students to make appointments to meet with us during the day. Many families are curious how students access us and when is the right time to visit the counseling office.

Here's a quick snapshot:

Before school: Counselors are available at 7:45 each morning
After school: Counselors are available until 3:05 each afternoon
During the day: Check in with a teacher first, have them call the counseling office to confirm that we are available, and come with a pass from your current teacher.
- Homeroom: 8:10-8:23
- Lunches: grade specific times
If you need to see a counselor at another point in the day, please ask a teacher to call first to check availability.

We also strongly encourage students to email us to schedule an appointment, answer quick questions, or help point them in the right direction.
