You’re welcome to play all of the games at once, or just the ones that catch your eye.

✨Holiday Emoji Check-In ✨
Drop 3–5 emojis that sum up your holiday mood right now.
Cozy? Chaos? Somewhere in between?
Mine:⛈️🏥🎁🎄☕
It’s been one of those weeks where plans change fast, hearts stretch wide, and you learn to hold the hard and the hopeful at the same time. Christmas lights help. So does a warm mug on repeat.
Your turn—no explanations required… unless you want to spill. Drop yours in this Google Form.
This kind of unexpected holiday shift feels very Eric in The Grumpy Mountain Man—sometimes the quiet Christmas you planned isn’t the one you get, but it can still be meaningful.

🎬 Holiday Movie 🎬
What’s your all-time favorite Christmas movie—and do you quote it year-round?
I’m a Home Alone girl forever (“Keep the change, you filthy animal”). I always pictured myself as Kevin taking down the bad guys—and honestly, “I made my family disappear” hits differently depending on the season of life.
I also have a soft spot for The Polar Express. I read the book to my students every year, and the movie with Tom Hanks still gets me every time. There’s just something about believing again. ✨
That mix of heart, faith, and a little adventure definitely found its way into stories like Nursing Flames for the Firefighter and Finding Love on the Slopes.
Your turn—what’s your favorite holiday movie? Drop yours in this Google Form.
And is there one you never skip, no matter how many times you’ve seen it? 💙🎄

🎁 Finish the sentence…
I want a _______ for Christmas.
Silly. Sweet. Or wildly impractical—like a hippopotamus. 🦛 No limits!
I’ll be over here dreaming of a cozy cabin by a babbling brook… and maybe a ’65 Mustang like Finn’s in Nursing Flames for the Firefighter.
And apparently Reader Catherine is wishing for a firefighter under her tree this year. 🔥😉

📍 Reader Roll Call 📍
Where are you reading from today?
Drop your state and country + your favorite winter drink. ☕❄️
I’m in the Sunshine State, Florida, where it’s currently in the 80s… and I’m still a hot cocoa girlie. Swiss Miss dark chocolate, no marshmallows—whipped cream if I’m buying it. 😉
Reader Jane has me seriously considering adding chocolate chips and sprinkles.

🎄 Holiday Would You Rather… 🎄
☃️ Build a snowman OR 🍪 decorate cookies?
💋 Kiss under the mistletoe OR 🎬 snuggle up for a Christmas movie?
🛍️ Shop early OR last-minute chaos?
🎲 Boisterous games OR quiet conversation?
Answer all of them—or just the one you feel very strongly about. 😉
Add yours to this Google Form.
Personally, I love the idea of building snowmen… even though not a single one has ever turned out well. For years, my girls and I tried making sandmen at the beach on December 26th, and somehow those were just as tragic. 😅
I’ve also never kissed under the mistletoe, and last-minute shopping is a hard no for me—my gifts are bought and wrapped by August at the latest.
It's no secret my family loves games. We will be teaching the littles how to play Hot Potato this year as we learn Taco vs. Burrito.
Your turn—what are you choosing? 💙🎄
❤️ Holiday Traditions ❤️
What’s one family tradition you look forward to every year — or one you’ve made your own?
For us? Cinnamon applesauce ornaments, a Christmas Eve Italian feast, and very loud games.
Tell me yours. I love these stories. 🤍🎄

🎶 Holiday Music Time 🎶
What song or album instantly puts you in the Christmas spirit?
Mine depends on the mood:
✨ Romance: Glow by Brett Eldredge
✨ Classic: Oh Holy Night
✨ Fun: Hot Chocolate from The Polar Express
…and Nat King Cole always earns at least one full day on repeat. 🤍
Your turn—drop your favorite! I’m building my holiday playlist and stealing ideas shamelessly. 😉
🎁 Best Gift Ever 🎁
What’s the best gift you’ve ever received—or given? Tell me the story. 💛
Mine was a full set of office supplies when I was thirteen. I mean everything—three-hole punch, stapler, tape dispenser, the works. I painted my name on every single piece so no one could “borrow” them. That stapler followed me into my first years of teaching… until one of my beloved Bad Boys used it as a projectile. I deflected it just in time, it hit the wall, shattered dramatically, and class carried on like nothing happened. Satisfying? Yes. RIP, stapler. 😅
Your turn—big, small, practical, or priceless. I love stories. Add yours to this Google Form.

🎄Merry Christmas 🎄
However today looks for you—full house or dinner for one, quiet or complicated—I hope you feel deeply loved, appreciated, and at peace.
Thank you for spending this season with me. For reading my stories, sharing yours, and being part of this little corner of the world we’ve built together. It means more than I can put into words.
If you haven’t read The Legend of the Candy Cane, I urge you to add it to your TBR. I’ve always loved how something so simple can carry such meaning.
Bent into a shepherd’s staff.
Red for love freely given.
White for hope made new.
Sometimes faith shows up quietly—in small things, in simple sweetness—a reminder that we are loved beyond measure and never alone.
From my heart to yours,
Merry Christmas
