The Grade 12 Leadership course is your opportunity to take initiative and leave the O'Neill community stronger. In this course you will act as a mentor to Grade 9 classes, explore the styles of leadership and the theories that drive effective leadership, explore conflict resolution, and improve your communication skills.

Leadership camp is a 3-day event that runs every May. This year we will be going from May 23-25.
Leadership camp is open to all Grade 9 and 10 students, and is run by counsellors who are in Grade 11 and 12. At camp you will make new friends, create bonds with your cabin and activity groups, and participate in activities that develop leadership skills and personal growth.
Activities at Leadership Camp include:
cabin bonding challenges
themed meal activities
High ropes & rock climbing
Creativity challenges
Camp-wide games
To apply for the Leadership course, simply select IDC4UJ in MyBlueprint and complete the application form. Additionally, you should have two teachers in mind who can speak to your suitability for this course. These documents can either be picked up from Guidance, room 101, or the English office. Additionally, you may print them yourself from this site. We are looking for students who are responsible and bring a positive attitude to their classroom and school.
The application process for Grade 12 Leadership will be based on the application form and teacher references. For this year's application, you can do one of the following:
Pick up a hard copy of the application form/ teacher reference forms (2). Fill in your form and ask two teachers to fill in a reference form. Submit your application form to Ms. Bernard in room 101or the English office. References can submit their forms to Ms. Bernard's mailbox.

To be a camper: We will announce camp details in early 2024. Listen to announcements and watch @ocvi_activities on instagram for details. Spots often fill quickly, so get your forms in as soon as you can!
To be a counsellor: We will start planning Leadership Camp 2025 in the fall of 2024. Listen to announcement and watch @ocvi_activities on Instagram for information. Counsellors must be in Grade 11 or 12.
