#DDSBLiftYourVoice

Lift Your Voice is a culturally responsive approach that addresses actionable items from both the Compendium of Action for Black Student Success, Equity & Diversity Strategic Plan and Well-Being and Mental Health. It will give students and staff the opportunity to experience the importance of representation, and witness the transparency and perseverance from a variety of community leaders who demonstrated the impact of high expectations and awareness of Black Excellence as well as Youth Mental Health.

LYV consists of two parts 

Part 1: is all about shining a spotlight of various Black leaders within the GTA who are currently making a difference in our communities as a whole through interactive presentations. (This portion involves peculiar challenges and giveaways for higher learning as well as higher rates of engagement) 

Special recognition: LYV also includes a mental health pieces that aligns with DDSB’s monthly character trait themes 

Part 2: is all about creating a virtual choir filled with DDSB students of all backgrounds to perform an original song annually
