About the Founder

Chantelle Barham is a passionate educator at the Durham District School Board who is currently teaching at Fallingbrook Public School. Before becoming a teacher, she attended York University where she obtained a Specialized Honours Degree in Vocal Music and afterwards completed her Bachelors of Education specializing in Urban Education at Western University.

Two of Chantelle's heart felt services that she loves to do is empower those around her, especially her students, and create & arrange music.  Chantelle is very aware of the power of words as well as the power of music and she took these two important things and created a Mental Health resource for students on YouTube titled "MusicalTruths!" -- Where the power of music meets the power of words. (You can learn more about her YouTube channel below!)

As for racial/social justice issues regarding the Black community, she believes that representation MATTERS and when a student sees someone that looks like them in other people who are placed in honourable roles and positions, it then encourages that student to want to achieve more, to blaze a trail of their own, to lift their voice.
