Laorrat Prasertsang M.6/1

Hello everyone!

My name is Laorrat Prasertsang. You can call me Teen. Now I’m studying in M.6/1. I went to America as an exchange student for 10 months with the organization AFS. I lived in the city of Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania. Philadelphia has lots of museums and cultural sites because it’s an old city and used to be the capital of America. I went to Abington Senior High School, which was not far from my house, so I mostly took the school bus to school. My school started at 7:35 a.m. and finished at 2:35 p.m. After school ends, students can go home and do something else. Some of my classmates just went to work; some joined school activities such as sports and clubs. I joined the school musical called “Hunchback of Notre Dame”. It was a big production that almost 150 students attended. I really enjoyed it and had a great time. I think it was the most fantastic experience ever! My friends and teachers at the school were pretty good. Some of them were so friendly. The teachers always helped me out when I had problems. At first, it was kind of hard to adjust myself to a new society but when I got used to with it, everything also got better. My host family was very nice too. They helped me out with many things, such as my English and how to be more responsible. They took care of me like their own family. What I got from being an exchange student: Firstly, my English has improved a lot compared to the past. Secondly, I learned how to adjust to a new society. Thirdly, I learned many of life’s lessons and these have made me more mature and responsible. Finally, I’d like to say thank you to Datdaruni School and all the teachers who supported me. I'd like to give special thanks to my lovely family. Thank you for reading!

Piyapat Thakamma M.6/1

Hello. This is Piyapat Thakamma.

My nickname’s Ton-Nam. I visited the U.S. for almost a year and this is my experience. I lived in the city of Arlington in Texas with a host family. My host family consisted of a dad, a mom and a son. They were all very nice people. We were quite the same because we loved the same things, such as action movies, food, travel and shopping, so I had a great time with them. I went to Arlington High School. It's the biggest high school in town with 3,000 students. I had four classes a day. After school, students usually had the choice of going home or going to work. My best memory is Halloween. In the U.S. Americans play "trick or treat" by wearing Halloween costumes and going door-to-door, asking for candy with the phrase “trick or treat”. I played this with my American friends. Afterward, we ate pizza and went home. It was my first Halloween in the U.S. and my first time hanging out with American friends. Thank you.
