All parents and guardians of pupils are members of the Parent Forum and have the right to raise any issue with the Parent Council.
The Parent Council consists of up to 16 members, with at least 2 from each year group, and up to 8 co-opted members, including a representative of the Roman Catholic Church, and representatives of the teaching and support staff; members of the Pupil School Council are also invited to meetings.
The Parent Council meets at least once every term and parents are kept informed about matters under discussion.
Parent Council meetings are open to the public.

The aims and objectives of the Council:
To develop St John’s as a strong Marist school based on Catholic beliefs and values.
To improve educational attainment and achievement by promoting parental involvement.
To identify and represent the views of parents.
To promote contact between the pupils, Church and local community.
To develop and take part in activities which support the education on and welfare of pupils.
To report annually to the Parents’ Forum.
To raise funds to the benefit of the school and pupils.
