DCSS School Social Workers 

School Social Workers are advocates who help students achieve academic success by linking the home, school, and community. In order to reach this goal, School Social Workers provide support services to remove barriers to student success. These support services include intervention, crisis support, and mental health counseling, addressing issues of non-attendance and truancy, and behavioral assessments to name a few.- School Social Worker Association of Georgia 

School Social Workers are master's level social workers who serve students in grades K-12. They assist children and families cope with social, psychological, and economical problems that may arise at school, home, work, or in the larger community. School Social Workers are also trained to identify, assess, and resolve personal and/or family conflicts which may interfere with school attendance, social adjustment or academic achievement.
