Mu Alpha Theta is a national mathematics honor society for high school and two-year college students.
Focus: Mu Alpha Theta aims to foster a love of mathematics and provide a platform for students to showcase their skills.
Membership: Students must have a 3.0 GPA in mathematics. Full members must have completed Algebra and Geometry. Associate members must complete both Algebra and Geometry within one year of joining the club to become full members.
Community: Many students engage in community service including tutoring peers and younger students in mathematics.Â
Activities: Opportunities for students to interact with others interested in math, participate in math-related events, organize math contest, attend math competitions and host Pi-a-Teacher Day!
National Organization: The Mu Alpha Theta National Organization has over 2, 200 chapters in the United States and 20 foreign countries, serving over 108,000 student members.
Awards and Scholarships: Mu Alpha Theta recognizes outstanding students and sponsors through various awards and scholarships.
