Reading:
-Reading fluently (without sounding out).
-Reading frequently - AT LEAST 20 minutes per day.
-Reading with expression (look at punctuation) to make the characters come alive with different voices.
-Identifying main ideas and key details.
-Answering comprehension questions (Who, What, When, Where, Why, How).
-Making connections to individuals and experiences in a text (text to self, text to text, text to world).
-Reading poetry.
*GOAL = Students should be able to read independently and fluently.*
