Program Coordinator and Head Sideline Coach
Coach Shannon Jones has been dedicated to coaching since becoming a DC Tiger 11 years ago. During high school, she was a Varsity Cheerleader, but it was not until she attended The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (AGGIE PRIDE!) that she discovered her true passion—education and mentorship.
Her goal is to foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all athletes. For Coach Jones, cheerleading is more than just a hobby; it’s a commitment to shaping young leaders. She works diligently to ensure that her athletes are not just cheerleaders but ambassadors for their school and, most importantly, for themselves.
Each season brings new challenges and changes, but through growth and persistence, her team rises to meet them every time.
Her favorite quote is:
"Many people do not fail in life because they aim too high and miss, but because they aim too low and hit." – Les Brown
Head Game Day Competition and Freshman Basketball Coach
Coach Hannah Saffo is a native to Douglasville, GA. Coach Hannah currently possesses a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education while employed in the Douglas County School System as a Kindergarten teacher. She began dance and gymnastics at a very young age that led to her interest in cheer. Coach Hannah’s cheerleading career started at the age of seven and continued for nine years. She began coaching in 2017 making this her 8th year of coaching. While the large majority of her cheer career has involved participating in and coaching competitive cheerleading, she has a special place in her heart for the time she spent cheering on the sidelines.
Coach Hannah strongly believes that being a cheerleader is about so much more than what is brought to the field or the mat. It's about representing the school population with integrity through teamwork, positivity, and perserverence. Cheerleading has been a big part of her life since she can remember and she wouldn’t have it any other way. As a DCHS graduate, Coach Hannah is honored to be a part of this team. Go Tigers!
Her favorite quote is: "Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear."
