Mrs. Balog

Hi families! Welcome to our classroom website! My name is Mrs. Bojana Balog, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year!

I have always had a passion for teaching and nurturing young minds. I currently hold a Summa Cum Laude Master's Degree in Education with a Reading Specialist Concentration from Holy Family University, as well as my Level II Teaching Certification—and with 10 years of teaching experience, I have developed a strong belief in the power of education and its ability to transform lives. I also intend on going for my PhD in the next ~5 years.

I believe that every child is inherently good, uniquely complex, and fully capable of high-level learning when given the right support, safety, and encouragement. My teaching philosophy centers around creating an inclusive classroom where every student feels valued and encouraged to wholly express themselves. I aim to foster a love for learning by making lessons engaging, interactive, and relevant to the students' lives outside the classroom. We will work together to develop creativity and higher-order thinking skills.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending my time immersed in nonfiction books, which provide endless opportunities for learning and growth. I also love walking and going for leisurely bike rides, which helps me stay active and appreciate the beauty of nature. Music is another passion of mine, particularly deep house music, which adds rhythm and joy to my life.

I believe that open and transparent communication between teachers, students, and parents is crucial for a successful school year.
