101: Ms. Reynolds

Hello! My name is Simone Reynolds, and I am excited to embark on my first school year with Discovery Charter School. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music in the fall of 2019, and ever since, I have been passionately dedicated to teaching. 

My journey in education began as a reading specialist in Nottoway County Public Schools in Virginia, where I had the opportunity to work closely with students to enhance their literacy skills. This role provided me with valuable insights into the diverse learning needs of children, which I found both challenging and rewarding. Following that experience, I transitioned into the role of the music teacher at Crewe Primary School, where I taught music to students in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. This experience allowed me to combine my love for music with my commitment to nurturing young minds.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. This program is enriching my teaching practices and equipping me with the tools necessary to support my students’ growth and development effectively. 

Having moved to Philadelphia last summer, I am particularly eager to start my educational career at Discovery Charter School. I am looking forward to contributing my skills and enthusiasm to this vibrant school community and helping inspire the next generation of learners.
