Each year, many families ask for ideas and activities they can work on at home, which is why we provide homework folders. While the folder may be called a “homework folder,” we like to call the activities inside extended learning opportunities because they are completely optional and are meant to support, not add pressure to, your child’s learning.
Each Monday, your child will bring home a folder with activities that connect to what we are learning in class. These may include math, reading, or literacy practice and can be completed at a pace that works best for your family.
Although these activities are not mandatory or expected, practicing school skills at home can reinforce classroom learning, build confidence, and help children develop strong study and organizational habits. Working together also provides valuable one-on-one time, encourages motivation, and allows you to support your child’s individual learning needs.
Please keep the folder in your child’s backpack when it is not being used so it is available for us to collect and refill each week. Students who show their teacher their completed work will earn a small reward for their responsibility and hard work!
