Hello, my name is Wendy Weiss and am very excited to be your sixth grade teacher! I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students and their families as we journey through this year together!
My goal for this year is to help each student reach his or her individual learning goals. I will provide a safe and inspiring learning environment that encourages the active participation of each student. Students will learn as they observe, explore, read, write, and interact with one another. This will be a year filled with exciting, engaging, and challenging learning opportunities!
I have a degree in Elementary Education from the College of St. Benedict and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. I have been teaching in Douglas County for 17 years; focusing my instruction on fifth and sixth grades.
As an active member of my community, I enjoy many outside activities. I am a proud parent of three wonderful children who have all now graduated from college. I am an active volunteer in my community and I enjoy hiking, camping, gardening, reading, crocheting and chocolate... of course!
