What is VALE’s Internship Program?
Starting in 10th grade, students apply for externships and internships, both designed to engage students in real-world work with local employees. Once accepted, students will spend 3-5 hours on Friday at their work sites shadowing, learning about the business, building employability skills, performing tasks and working on projects, depending on their placement and partnership.
Externship and internship mentors agree to provide a safe and educational experience for their student. VALE WBL coordinators provide guidance, deliverables and support to partners throughout the process. The goal is to create a win-win experience as students grow, learn the business, and provide value to their work site.
