What to do when you're absent
We love being here at school and we want our students to be here, too! We understand that appointments, illnesses, family obligations, etc. can happen during school hours. Please keep us in the loop so we can do what's best for everyone!
It is each student's responsibility to. . .
Check the website! Do what you can from the website (draft, print handouts, finish/start a task, study, read...)
Email the teachers the day you are gone if you have questions: "I noticed on the website we did..." If you need help drafting your email so that it comes across appropriately and politely, please ask a parent/guardian to help.
Get the notes from your group members before the next day of class.
If you missed an assessment (test or quiz) or presentation, PLEASE email your teacher a plan when you will make up the test within the week of being absent. Access is not always the best time for this. Consider before or after school or lunch.
Some above-and-beyond ideas to help a friend who is gone:
Have your group share a Google doc
Text a friend who is absent
Take a picture of your notes (please be sure to get approval before using your phone in class)
