Artists Express Individuality

How can we create art that expresses our unique feelings and ideas?

I am so proud of our young artists!  We have 47 students representing Lone Tree Elementary!

Come to the DCSD Legacy Campus to view amazing student artwork!

This month, 3rd- 6th grade art students chose a 3 week elective, Shadow Puppet Theatre, and had the opportunity to have a Being Here experience learning from a shadow puppet master. Betsy Tobin has her own performing arts theatre in Boulder, Now or Never Theatre. She came to LTE for 21 workshop sessions and helped our students learn about puppet theatre during her 3 week residency with us. Students not only learned about tricks of the trade with Betsy but she worked with every group to help them develop their story and refine puppet work. Our performing teams rehearsed to prepare for a culminating event. Student teams performed 15 total plays for our Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students. They then followed up with a Q & A with each audience to share their knowledge with our younger students. Please take some time to watch the shows and see if you can spot our LifeSkills and joy that help illustrate how amazing our Lone Tree Elementary students are!
