Sunday Salmon in Castle Rock
Sunday Salmon, owned by Mary Grothe, is an organic, gluten-free, and seed-oil-free community restaurant located at the corner of Wolfensberger & Park Street. Open Sundays from 5–8 p.m., this warm, family-style restaurant offers delicious, wholesome meals at no cost—donations are appreciated but never required. Because seating is limited, reservations are encouraged. Sunday Salmon seats 10–12 guests per table, serving up to 48 guests per hour, with three seating times:
5:00–5:15 p.m.
6:00–6:15 p.m.
7:00–7:15 p.m.
Walk-ins are also welcome as space allows.
Sunday Salmon is alcohol-free and focused on community connection and nourishment.
Coming soon, they’ll be expanding to include a weekday meal prep service, offering families the chance to learn about nutrition, cooking, and even take home 2–3 ready-to-heat organic meals each week.
For questions or to learn more, please reach out to Mary Grothe directly at 303-877-0058 or mary@marygrothe.com
The State of Colorado has announced that SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits are currently on hold and may be delayed for November.
According to the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS):
“Because of the federal government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has not released the funds that states use to pay SNAP (food assistance) benefits. This means Colorado is unable to issue the approximately $120 million of November SNAP benefits to clients until the federal government restores funding.”
CDHS is sending communication directly to impacted households and will continue to share updates on its website.
We understand that this news may cause concern for families who rely on SNAP benefits for food access. Please know that even if November benefits are delayed, school breakfasts and lunches will continue as usual and remain free for all DCSD students.
