The mission of the Sagewood Middle School Counseling Department is to provide a data-driven, student-centered, developmentally appropriate, comprehensive counseling program that reaches and supports every student in the areas of academic, career, and personal-social needs. We are an involved, visible part of the culture of Sagewood, supporting the learning environment by creating a system of safety, support, trust, and communication for all students that will aid students in their journey toward excellence.
The vision of the Sagewood Middle School counseling program is for our students to utilize DCSD World Class Outcomes, 21st Century Skills, and the four C’s of creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking to achieve high levels of academic and personal success. The positive, supportive culture at Sagewood prepares and empowers our students to understand the diversity within themselves and others that enables them to make successful academic, social, and post-secondary choices. Our Counseling Department along with, our mental health team is involved in collaborating with our students, families, and teachers to ensure each student reaches their maximum personal potential, allowing them to be emotionally healthy, forward-thinking learners, community members, professionals, and future leaders.
