Discover Destiny- check out ebooks and audiobooks from home!

  • Go to Timber Trail website https://tte.dcsdk12.org/
  • In the tab, click on Students and drop-down to TTE library
  • Username (universal google log-in)

Password (Dcsd and lunch number) (teachers, use your universal password)

  • You should be on Destiny Discover. Scroll down and you will find ebooks, audiobooks, Lightbox books, and interactive books that students can access from home. In Lightbox, you can assign lessons.
  • Additionally, in Destiny Discover, if there is a genre of book that is listed in “overdrive”, students are able to access those from home. They will “borrow” the book with a click of a button and “return” with a click of a button. Teachers, you can access books, as well.

With Lightbox, students receive a true multimedia learning experience that incorporates audio, video, interactive activities, and much more across a variety of professionally developed curriculum. Designed to inspire contemporary students, Lightbox incorporates videos, Google Maps, worksheets, audio, quizzes, and other exciting interactive features.Follett is offering Lightbox eBooks free until June 30, 2020.

1. Go to https://www.destinydiscover.com/

2. In the location box, it will say "any location". Do not change.

3. In the school box, enter "Follett eLearning, McHenry, IL" and click Go.

4. Click on the login button at the top right of the screen.

Username: guest

Password: follett

5. You may share this login with other teachers & students.

DCSD students & staff can browse and enjoy eBooks and audiobooks anytime, anywhere, on any device. Students and staff login with their universal credentials to check out 3 titles at a time for a two-week lending period. After the lending period, the titles are automatically returned to the shelf! Newsela- Teachers can sign up for a free account through Gmail to access non-fiction content and recent news stories.

PBS Learning Media- Teachers can sign up for the Basic Free Version to access thousands of free, standards-aligned and curriculum targeted digital resources.

Smithsonian TweenTribune- Teachers can sign up for free to curate news articles for their classes to read & take quizzes. All news stories are leveled by grade/lexile.
