Homework Expectations & Weekly Homework Tasks
* At the beginning of each month we will send home a calendar. Write the number of minutes that you read each day. Students who turn in their calendar at the end of the month will get a prize. You can always practice math facts.
Here are several ways to read together.
*Your child may also have more work based on unfinished work in class or if they need to focus on a specific skill.
* We will have several at home projects throughout the year. We will give you all the information when they occur.
Ongoing skills to practice
*Math addition and subtraction facts up to 20.
They should know them in a snap. Flash cards, dice, and playing cards are great tools to help them learn this skill.
Reading and writing common key words.
Decoding (reading) and encoding (writing) key words will help your child with comprehension and fluency. There are several lists to practice at home using a whiteboard, journal, or creating flashcards. Here is a site to help you get started.
