Welcome!
Hello and welcome! My name is Mrs. Goedeker, and I am so excited to be your 4th grade teacher here at Pine Lane Elementary this year! I am really looking forward to a fantastic year filled with engaging, hands on projects and lots of learning. I can't wait to get to work with you!
I am a Colorado native, and I am proud to say this will be my 20th year at Pine Lane and my fifth year teaching fourth grade. I love being a member of this incredible school community! Before moving up to fourth grade, I taught kindergarten here at Pine Lane for 7.5 years. Prior to that, I worked as a substitute teacher for Douglas County, spending most of my time right here at Pine Lane subbing in every grade and subject including multiple long-term substitute positions in kindergarten, 1st grade, 5th grade, and even P.E.! Before finding my home in DCSD, I taught 2nd grade at an Aurora public school for 3 years.
I hold a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics. Because I am passionate about lifelong learning, I have also completed over 60 credit hours beyond my Master's degree across a wide multitude of educational areas to ensure I am always bringing the best, most innovative strategies to our classroom. Unsurprisingly, math and science are my absolute favorite subjects!
My family has deep roots here at Pine Lane! My son, Hayden, is a proud Pine Lane alumnus, he started as a preschooler here and went all the way through 6th grade. This fall, he will be finishing up his undergraduate program while starting the quick start program for his graduate degree at the University of Wyoming. He is majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in biomedical engineering. He even spent his summer as a research assistant at Wyoming working on an exciting project for NASA! I am incredibly proud of him and love getting to spend time with him every chance I get.
I am also super lucky to be married to my high school sweetheart, Aaron. He serves our local community as a District Chief for the South Metro Fire Department. We live right here in Parker and share our home with two 7.5-year-old rescue dogs, Koda and Truckie, as well as our barn cat, Spook.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, fishing, scuba diving, playing games, traveling, and watching movies. Our newest family hobby is sporting clays; we are having a blast competing, and it is even more fun watching Hayden compete for his college team. He also plays lacrosse for the Wyoming Club team!
I am so grateful to be a part of your child's educational journey this year. Communication is key to a successful school year, so please never hesitate to reach out. Let's make it a wonderful year in 4th grade!
