Sustainability

We're excited for the DLMC and Sustainability departments to offer resources and ideas on how to integrate sustainability while working through this incredible book, If You Come to Earth.

Opportunity for schools:
Using the book as an anchor text and sustainability as a lens, students will create their own book celebrating their school campus or community as a way of understanding place/community (Ex: If You Come to _________). Activities could include:

• Mapping the school or community and identifying the unique features of the natural and built environment.

• Identify the ways family and community members contribute to their well being

• Describe ways good citizens care for their community.

• Work collaboratively on projects that contribute to the well being of the community.

• Create classroom or campus wide book,or multi media projects, depicting what makes the campus or community unique utilizing themes introduced in the book.

• We will help your school publish a copy of your book!
