The DCSD District Library Media Center is hosting its 4th annual One Book One District to celebrate literacy and community, encouraging everyone to read and be inspired by the beautiful book Whale Fall by Melissa Stewart.

This nonfiction picture book is filled with stunning illustrations about the end of life for a whale, also known as a whale fall. Its body sinks to the ocean floor and becomes an energy-rich food source for organisms living in the deep sea. This fascinating real-life phenomenon is brought to vivid and poetic life by nonfiction master Melissa Stewart and acclaimed illustrator Rob Dunlavey.
