What is NJHS?

NJHS is a national society of which the students are high achieving students, involved in community services. It hopes to build Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character in young students to use throughout their life.

Pledge: I pledge to uphold the high purposes of the National Junior Honor Society to which I have been selected; I will be true to the principles for which it stands; I will be loyal to my school; and I will maintain and encourage high standards of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character.

History:

NJHS was established in 1929, 8 years after the National Honor Society began. Today, more than a million students participate in the activities of NHS and NJHS.

What is NJHS?

NJHS is an in-school organization for high-achieving students who are interested in leadership, citizenship, and scholarship in their future.

How can I get into NJHS?

First, you must meet the GPA requirement, which is at least a 3.5 GPA. From there, you can fill out a resume that includes how you excel in each of the 5 principles. Here at CRMS, you must apply at the end of seventh grade in order to attend the induction ceremony. You will know when this time comes via announcements.

What is the difference between NHS and NJHS?

NHS stands for National Honor Society, and is a high school level organization. NJHS, on the other hand, stands for National Junior Honor Society, and 8th graders participate in it.

Our goal is to build leaders and provide service for those who need it.


Roles in NJHS

Roles

The Presidents -

Coordinates NJHS activities, communicates with advisors, runs NJHS meetings, fills in for absent officers (if needed), assists the treasurer with record keeping, and keeps up with students not fulfilling NJHS requirements.

The Vice Presidents-

Provides insight and knowledge about NJHS meetings, aids the president, and is in charge of advertising upcoming meetings and events.

The Secretary-

Keeps minutes of officers meetings, keeps attendance at general meetings, fills-in for absent officers.

The Historians-

Design and maintain the NJHS website, and takes pictures of fundraisers and events.

The Treasurer-

Keeps records and helps make decisions with other officers.

The Community & School Service Chair-

Helps with organizing service projects, and keeping track of the hours.

The Members-

Provide input, and help bring NJHS together!
