Hello seniors!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ It's time to start thinking about college applications. Click on the "COLLEGE APPLICATION HELP" tab above for instructions on where to start.
~ Make sure you have 20 hours of community service entered into Helper Helper. If not, START NOW!! Not having hours will cause you stress and roadblocks in May!
~ If you are not college-bound, think about attending one of the DCSD Career Showcase trade fairs.
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opens on December 1st this year. Chat with your parents to set up an account. Many colleges require that you apply even if you feel you won't qualify. Questions? Visit www.studentaid.gov.
College Visit Registration
College Visits
HOW TO REGISTER FOR A COLLEGE VISIT: Approximately 100 colleges/universities come to visit Mountain Vista every year, 75 percent of those in September and October. Each visit enables junior and senior to meet with that  representative and get information about the school, as well as ask questions. The visits last up to 30 minutes. Juniors and seniors may sign up for these visits through Naviance (be selective and choose only those schools you are genuinely interested). Naviance is continually updated as new visits are scheduled. To sign up, go to Naviance, click on the tab "colleges"; scroll to the bottom to view the list. Click on the college you wish to visit and click "Register". Right click and screen shot the registration or print out the email reminder and use as your pass. Be sure to have it signed by your teacher allowing you to miss class.
