Final Reminders for Outdoor Ed! - October 2nd

Here are some last-minute reminders:

  • Make sure your student has a completely disposable lunch for tomorrow in their backpack. We will eat when we arrive at the YMCA.

  • A reminder that you should drop your student off at 8:50 in the car loop. This will be a kiss-and-go system.

  • Please make sure your child only brings one suitcase and one backpack. Make sure they take their school stuff out of their backpack, they will not need it while we are there. Their backpack should have their reusable water bottle, sunscreen, hat, layers to put on, sunglasses, notebook, 1-2 writing utensils, chapstick, sanitary supplies, and anything else they will need throughout the day.

  • No technology or food (besides lunch) is allowed on the trip

We are excited to see you tomorrow!

Outdoor Ed Update - September 26th

We are getting close to Outdoor Ed! The kids are so excited! We are spending a lot of time answering questions in class and going over what to pack. I am including a copy of the packing list with this email and will send another copy in Weekly Folders on Monday.. Please start gathering what your child will need to make packing easier. Below are some reminders as well as logistics about what drop off and pick up will look like.

  • All medication is due to the school by Wednesday, September 28th.

  • Students will need a completely disposable lunch for Monday. Please make sure this is in their backpack.

  • If a family emergency arises while we are gone, please call:

    • During school hours call the school at 303-387-6525

    • Before or after school hours call 303-349-6945

Packing

  • Students can bring ONE suitcase (or duffle bag) and a backpack

  • They will carry their backpack with them during the day. Please ensure they bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, hat (sun and snow), sunglasses, chapstick, and layers of clothing.

  • The weather changes quickly in the mountains. It will be cold when we set out for breakfast, warmer during the day and then cold again at night. Students need to pack layers in order to be comfortable throughout the day.

  • If your student will need sanitary supplies while we are there, please make sure they plan accordingly and bring what they need. They should also have some in their backpack. We will have some for emergencies but not enough to provide for the whole trip.

  • Snacks, food, and candy are not allowed. These things will be taken away if they are found.

  • Electronic devices are not allowed on the trip. This includes smartwatches, digital cameras, kindles, iPads, phones, etc.

  • Students are welcome to bring disposable cameras for picture taking. Regular cameras will not be allowed.

Drop off on Monday Morning October 3rd:

  • On Monday, you will drop your child off in the bus loop starting at 8:50 am. Students cannot ride school buses with their luggage. Please do not drop your child off before 8:50, as there will still be cars in the car loop.

  • You will go through the car loop at 8:50 with your child. This will be kiss and go. We will be there to assist in getting luggage out of the car.

  • Students will load their luggage onto the bus and then we will have class inside of our classrooms until it is time to depart.

Pick up on Wednesday, October 5th:

  • On Wednesday, you will pick up your student when we return from Winter Park around 2:30pm. You will drive through the carloop to pick up your student and we will load their luggage as you pull through.

  • We will send a dialer/email when we leave Winter Park to give you a more exact time to arrive at school.

  • Anyone with medication to pick up will need to pick it up at the front office.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your homeroom teacher.
