What is Advisement?
The purpose of Advisement/Homeroom is an opportunity to build relationships with peers and the teacher. During study time I can assist students with all subjects as they work on homework for any class. Students who are finished or have no homework should spend this time reading, organizing binders, studying, or quietly helping others. Passes will be provided for those students needing to see another teacher.
Advisement Rules
Students will be expected to follow all normal classroom expectations, as well as...
Make Good Use of Our Time.
All students should remain in their seats unless they have permission to be working somewhere else.
No talking during homework time, except to ask for help, or to provide help to another student.
Grading for Advisement
Students will be expected to be prepared each day with homework assignments and a book plus materials to work with; students will receive preparedness points for having their materials.Â
Lessons for Advisement will be provided by the counseling department.
