About Me

I am very excited for my third year at Cresthill as the 7th grade science teacher for Team Juniper!

Previously, I taught 5th and 6th (science, social studies and language arts) for 8 years at Eagle Ridge Elementary. I also taught first grade at Pine Lane Primary from 1996-2005. In 2005 I paused teaching and became a full-time mom. 

My children are “well-known” around Cresthill as it was once their school too! Ava graduated from GCU (in Phoenix,AZ) this past April and will be Student Teaching in Language Arts at HRHS this Fall Semester!!   Jack will be a senior at HRHS, and Annika will be a junior at HRHS! My husband, Robert and I just celebrated our 29th Anniversary and we feel very blessed!

I value each child individually and firmly believe that it takes a strong partnership between home and school to ensure all students reach the best of their potential. I believe in teaching valuable “Executive Skills” and "Mindsets" so that students can set themselves up for success. I want our classroom to be a safe place with high expectations for respect and caring for one another. Lastly, it is important that we understand the value of our mistakes, have a GROWTH MINDSET, and learn to laugh and have fun together!

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy walking my dog, spending time with family, swimming, golfing, feeding my Hummingbirds (and the many other types in my yard), and traveling the world!
