Classroom Procedures
Homework
I will not be giving out homework weekly however, I encourage parents to read with their child for 20 minutes each night. It is also important to remember to practice sight words and math facts at home with your student as well. I will be sending different resources home with your child in their take home folders in order to help them practice.
Grading
We grade on a 1-4 grading scale. The criteria is as follows:
1 - Does not meet expectations (below grade level standards)
2 - Approaching expectations (not all grade level standards)
3 - Meets expectations (on grade level standards)
4 - Exceeds expectations (above grade level standards)
Food and Water
Snacks and water bottles
Please send students with one snack and a water bottle each day!
Along with this, it is helpful if your student's name is on their water bottle.
Volunteering

I will be in contact with parents via email to set up volunteer dates!
Student of the week
Our class will have a new student of the week each Friday. I will select a new student in Alphabetical order each week and send them home with an "All About Me" poster. Students can decorate their poster with pictures of themselves, their friends and families. Students can also bring up to three items of importance to them to share with the class while presenting. An example of this could be a favorite toy or stuffed animal. I encourage parents to come into the classroom and watch their student present their "All About Me" poster! I will email parents in advance to let them know when their student will be presenting. If the date selected for your student does not work, please feel free to reach out to me so we can choose a different date.
