Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Continue to learn. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.
My name is Kellie Lewis and this is my 7th year teaching at Northridge. The last 5 years I have taught at 6th grade math and this year I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade!
I have a BA in Philosophy and a Minor in Biochemistry from Colorado State University. I completed a teacher licensure program at Metropolitian State College of Denver for K-6 education.
Teaching is not my first career, but it is by far my favorite!!! I am so lucky that I get to go to work every day.
In my class I ask my students to think and act like readers, authors, mathematicians, scientists, historians, archeologists, etc. We should come to school with a thirst for knowledge and a curiosity about the world! Every day students should enter class ready to work hard, take risks, try new things, collaborate with one another, have fun, and gain a lot of knowledge! I cannot wait to get to know your child better, to challenge them academically, to help them learn skills that are necessary for 4th grade and beyond, to make learning fun, and to build positive and long lasting memories of their fourth grade year.
If you have an urgent matter, like your child will be going home from school a different way then they thought that morning, please call the office at 303-387-6525 and they will send a message to our room. I am busy teaching during the day and don't always get to my email until afterschool hours.
