4th grade social studies is all about Colorado history!!! Last week we started learning about symbols of Colorado. The students learned that America turns 250 years old and Colorado turns 150 years old. We are known as the Centennial State because we were recognized as a state exactly 100 years after the United States was recognized as a country!

Today from 7 - 8:30 pm at Civic Green Park Highlands Ranch will be celebrating our 150th anniversary with a free event! The event includes live music, food trucks, and a drone show! For more information, visit this site.

Students need to bring a 16" x 20" foam board to school by Monday for our Colorado map social studies project. Thank you in advance!

We will be taking iReady beginning of the year tests for both reading and math this week. We will be doing iReady reading on Tuesday and Wednesday in the morning. We will be doing iReady math on Thursday and Friday in the morning.

What: Fun Run is a day for EVERYONE at Northridge! Our students raise donations and jog laps, teachers and parents jog with and cheer on students, Specials teachers and staff help support the day in so many ways, and our principal runs laps with every grade! It’s an all-school event that is our largest fundraiser of the year.

When: Wednesday, September 2nd

Why: Fundraising proceeds will go toward new technology, online learning resources, teacher appreciation, class field trip transportation, classroom books and supplies and much more!

How: All students can register for a customizable fundraising webpage that makes sending donation requests and sharing why you love NRE with friends and family easy peasy! On September 2nd students will run laps for 20 minutes on a .1 mile track (on average, kids run 9-10 laps). Students will be awarded an all school Prize Day on September 18th to celebrate our accomplishments in addition to individual fundraising incentives!
