About Me

Hi! My name is Forrest Sheets and this is my 24th year as a teacher. I am very excited to be back here at Castle Rock Middle School this year!! Over the years I have taught 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, Technology/IT Apps & Design, and now 8th Grade Social Studies.

I grew up in Central Ohio and went to Bowling Green State University. After graduation, I was a substitute teacher/8th-grade football coach. I did that for 3 months and then started working on plans to fulfill a lifelong dream, moving to Colorado. I visited Colorado when I was eight years old and fell in love! I moved here in January of 1995 where I spent a few years on the Front Range and then headed to the Western Slope. There I taught for 2 years as a substitute and 7 years as a 4th, 5th, and Jr. High Technology teacher.

There I met and married my best friend, Jennifer (teacher at Cherry Creek High School now). We had Sadie, the first of our 3 daughters before we had to move to help out with a sick family member. We moved to Florida and while there, had Allison, daughter number 2. Here I returned to 4th grade to teach for just one year. Then we moved to South-East Louisiana where I taught 4th grade for a year and then 6th-grade math, science, and social studies for the next 5 years. While in Mandeville we had Madelyn, our third and final daughter.

After living in Louisiana for 6 years my wife and I decided it was time to come back to what we have always thought of as home, Colorado! We are very happy to have landed here in Castle Rock! We love to ski, camp, hike, fish, and bike. We are often accompanied by Zoe, our 9-year-old Kelpie, Boudreau our 8-year-old pointer/cattle dog mix, and Queenie, our 6-year-old Chihuahua mix.  We also have 2 cats, Sonny who is 7, and Shadow who is 2 years old.
