Our focus this year is to create a love of reading. In fourth grade we are making the amazing transition from learning to read to reading to learn!
Arrowwood Recommendations for homework:
In fourth grade, children are recommended to read for 40-50 minutes every day. This can be independent, with another person, or even read to by a parent. We want to encourage our students to read different text structures and explore a variety of genres with a focus on non-fiction. Reading is not "mandatory" but highly recommended. Your student(s) will be given a reading log and once they reach a certain about of hours each each month, they will be able to receive a positive reward.
