Get to know me

I began my teaching career as a Science Teacher many years ago.  It was during that time that I fell in love with working with middle school students.  While being home for several years with my 2 daughters, I was fortunate to be able to have the opportunity to volunteer weekly in various Math classes at their school.  I was fascinated how all students seemed to learn Math differently and I was drawn to the deep Math conversations I was hearing around me.  I began my journey of working toward becoming a Math teacher & am thrilled to now be teaching Math!  This is my 5th year working in a Math classroom (with two years doing Math Intervention at a K-12 school).

I am a mom to 2 wonderful kids, who are in 6th and 9th grade in our neighborhood Douglas County Schools.  We also have two cats who keep me on my toes & bring us so much joy!  My husband and I are originally from Upstate NY on the Canadian border, but have both been living in Colorado for over 20 years.  I am lucky enough to have 3 sisters and a brother, and lots and lots of nieces & nephews.  Although they are scattered all over the country, I absolutely love getting to spend time with them.

Some of my hobbies include: swimming, traveling, cooking, composting (YES...I truly love making soil!), grocery shopping, camping & having lunch with friends.  I love spending time in the mountains and anytime I can get near a body of water, it is hard to keep me out!
