Mountain Ridge Counselors

Hello! My name is Carla Christiansen and this will be my fourth year at Mountain Ridge Middle School. Prior to MRMS, I was a special education teacher at Rocky Heights Middle School for 11 years. I’ve been in education for 20 years and have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students, but I have found that middle school students are my people! I love working with this age group and all that comes with it. I am excited to return to my Mountain Ridge community this year!

I will be the counselor for Challenger Point 7/8. I look forward to being a safe place for students to come and a person they are able to trust and connect with. Having worked in a middle school previously, I understand what a difficult time this can be for students and I am so happy to be able to help students in such a fulfilling way this year!

I have two children of my own who are 21 and 24. They are my world and I look forward to developing a relationship with my adult children. I am originally from Wyoming, but have been in Colorado for 24 years now. I enjoy reading, exercising, and cuddling with our dog, Raven, in my spare time.

My name is Stacy Hancock, and I am the counselor for the Pyramid Peak and Mt. Blue Sky teams! I am so excited for my fourth year at Mountain Ridge Middle School and look forward to getting to know all of the parents and students

It is my goal to connect with each student and be a trusted adult they can turn to for guidance and support. I am committed to working with each student in supporting their academic, social and personal growth. 

Outside of school, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and our two dogs. We have three kids in college, so we love when we can spend time with them.

Hi! My name is Pax Mitchell and I am the counselor for Castle Peak and Sunshine Peak. This is my fourth year at Mountain Ridge and I am so excited to return to the incredible staff and Highlands Ranch community. Everyone is so welcoming and I can't wait to meet you!

My favorite part of school counseling is building relationships with students in order to support them in their academic, career/college, and social emotional goals! I also like to work collaboratively with teachers and families in supporting specific needs through individual, group, or classroom lessons. I'm always here as a resource in helping you reach your dreams.

When I'm not at Mountain Ridge, I'm happiest spending time with my friends, my fiancé, and our dogs (Zuma and Charlie). I enjoy going on hikes, checking out local music, and traveling to the East Coast to visit family.
