Hello! My name is Carla Christiansen and this will be my fifth year at Mountain Ridge Middle School. Prior to MRMS, I was a special education teacher at Rocky Heights Middle School for 11 years. I’ve been in education for 20+ years and have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students, but I have found that middle school students are my people! I love working with this age group and all that comes with it. I am excited to return to my Mountain Ridge community this year!
I will be the counselor for 6th grade (Crestone Peak and Maroon Peak). I look forward to being a safe place for students to come and a person they are able to trust and connect with. Having worked in a middle school previously, I understand what a difficult time this can be for students, and I am so happy to be able to help students in such a fulfilling way this year!
I have two adult children, and they are my world. I am originally from Wyoming, but have been in Colorado for 25 years now. I enjoy reading, exercising, and cuddling with our dog, Raven, in my spare time.
Hi! My name is Stacy Hancock, and I am the counselor for 7th-graders in Pyramid Peak and Castle Peak. This is my fifth year at MRMS and my seventeenth year with Douglas County School District (DCSD). Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, but my passion has always been middle school.
I enjoy supporting students during this important stage of their academic, social, and emotional development while helping them build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. My goal is to create meaningful relationships with every student and be a trusted adult they can count on for guidance and support. I am dedicated to partnering with students and families to encourage academic success, personal growth, and overall well-being. I understand that parenting a middle schooler can be both an exciting and challenging experience, and I look forward to working together to support your child and help make their middle school years a positive and successful journey.
Outside of school, I enjoy traveling with my husband and spending time with our two dogs. We have been married for 26 years and have three amazing children—a 27-year-old daughter and 22-year-old twin sons. I love spending time with my family and making the most of every opportunity to be together.
I live with my husband and two daughters, one a 7th grader and one a senior. When I'm not in Highlands Ranch, I'm usually at cheer competitions with my daughter and her team. For fun, I hang out with friends, do Zumba, and spend time with my family.
