What I think: US History is one of the most important classes one can take in high school. I truly believe that its not just boring names and dates, but instead a story of our history within and outside this country. I think it is important to become exposed to and address many different perspectives on the events, ideas, themes, and happenings that have shaped this country to be what it is today. Although there are certainly many facts and figures that are indisputable, I also think that there is plenty of room for opinions and analysis in studying the history of the United States. In today's information age, it is so important to understand that "back then" and today we need to be diligent in checking our sources and understanding the point of view from which we are gaining information.
