In Douglas County School District, Fridays begin 45 minutes later than our regular Monday–Thursday schedule. This dedicated time allows teachers to work together in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), where they collaborate, analyze student learning, and plan engaging, targeted instruction to help every student succeed.

Friday Late Start Reminders:

• School begins 45 minutes later than usual on Fridays.

• Bus routes run 45 minutes later than their regular schedule.

• Before-school B.A.S.E. childcare remains available for elementary students.

• Breakfast will still be served before school begins.

• If a weather delay occurs on a Friday, PLC time is canceled and school will simply start 90 minutes later than the normal Monday–Thursday start time.
