Ilyena Wagner
I never knew that I was completely insignificant
I never knew that none of my actions ever meant anything
I never knew that I was only 5 feet and 8 inches of 92 billion light years
I never knew that I was a speck living on a speck in what is probably another speck in the ever expanding universe
I never knew that Earth was so egotistical
I never knew that the universe didn’t revolve around me
I never knew that I was just one of 7 billion people on one planet
I never knew that so many wonders lied just beyond the atmosphere
I never knew that if I reached towards space, I would never be alone
I never knew that dying stars used every bit of their power to light my way
I never knew that an entire 92 billion light years wanted me to succeed
I never knew that I had every star, every planet, every galaxy on my side
I never knew that all 67 of Jupiter’s moons had my back
I never knew that every crystal in Saturn’s rings wrapped around me in a warm embrace
I never knew that Mars’ red always showed its love for me
I never knew that Neptune instilled wisdom and truth within my soul
I never knew that Uranus was not on its side because it was hit by an asteroid, but rather because that’s where it wanted to be and it was not ashamed
I never knew that the warmth of the sun on my back were rays of light willing me to go forward without fear
I never knew that I would meet you
I never knew that I would meet any of you
I never knew that a few people could make such an impact in my life
I never knew that 92 billion light years was made up by the worlds of every single individual
I never knew that everyone had the power to influence others for the better
I never knew that I had the capability to change the world
I never knew that I was such a significant part of the universe
