Iron Horse Elementary Before and After School Enterprise

Incoming Kindergarteners will be able to register with our BASE program however they will not be allowed to attend the program until they reach 5 years of age and the school year has begun for them. (ie. an incoming Kindie can not attend BASE during the Summer before their first year of school)
Effective with the 2026-2027 school year, 6th-grade students who have started middle school will no longer be eligible to attend elementary BASE programs.
DCSD BASE programs are site-specific, prioritizing students enrolled at that elementary school with staffing models tailored to those specific school schedules. Additionally, many of our programs are hiring (we currently have 38 open BASE positions across the district) to ensure we can fully serve our students. These staffing and site-specific factors are critical to providing an environment suited to the needs of elementary students, which can differ significantly from the social environment of middle school students.
We recognize that this change may require your family to seek new after-school arrangements. To assist with this transition, we recommend contacting your middle schools main office. They can provide information regarding local after-school clubs, sports, and other district-approved resources available to middle school students.

B.A.S.E. (Before and After School Enterprises) is a state licensed on-site before and after school program right here at Iron Horse!
B.A.S.E. offers a variety of activities ranging from organized active group games, play-based learning, science experiments, unique crafts, tech time, homework club, off-site and on-site field trips, themed days and more!
We are a PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE program!
