Inclement Weather/ Closures

We know it can be hard to remember what happens to BASE operations if something unusual is going on (snow days, early dismissal, emergencies, etc...), so here is a quick guide as to what generally happens. Know that every situation can be different - so please be sure to opt-in to our e-mail updates and read all information that is sent out regarding closures. You can always monitor the DCSD web presence (Facebook, Twitter, website - links below!) and school websites for more information in an emergency or inclement weather situation.

DCSD CLOSURE

When DCSD is closed (due to inclement weather or emergency) our BASE program is closed.

DELAYED START

In the case of a delayed start, the delay is generally 90 minutes. This means that our before care program will open at 8:00am. Delayed starts do not change our after school schedule at all.

AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELLED

If after school activities are cancelled, this generally includes BASE. Specific information will be disseminated through the Program Manager and DCSD communication channels.

EARLY DISMISSAL

If an early dismissal is called, generally this will mean that BASE is cancelled.
