All About Me – Emily Romo
“Nothing is impossible. The word itself says 'I'm possible!' ”
~Audrey Hepburn
I am so excited to start my sixth year at Eldorado Elementary! Children are a passion of mine as I have been lucky enough to spend time in many different classrooms over the last several years. I taught kindergarten for 3 years and first grade for 2 years all here at Eldorado. However, when presented with the opportunity to teach second grade I knew that my heart would not be happier in any other place. I will provide my classroom with a positive, exciting, challenging, and safe environment in which each student will be given the opportunity to grow.
I received my bachelor degree in International Studies from Colorado State University. Along with getting a degree, I was able to compete in Division 1 Track and Field, go 400 meter runners!! Following my undergraduate, I moved to Madrid, Spain to teach English in an elementary school. After falling in love with my students and learning, I returned home and received my teacher certification and Master degree in elementary education through Western Colorado State University.
My husband and I LOVE to be outside. We enjoy hiking, riding bikes, gardening, golfing, skiing, snowshoeing, soaking in the sun... you name it! We have one crazy fur baby, a kitty named Miss Sergeant Tibbs. In my down time, I love to read a good book or try a new recipe in the kitchen. I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places around the world, and yet my list for adventure only keeps getting longer.
My love for students and learning has only continued to grow over the years and I am excited to continue on this adventure as a teacher. Thank you for sharing your beautiful children with me, it is going to be great year!!
